My Time Strategies

I am very bad at managing my time. When classes start, all the work add up and it feels like I never have any free time, there is always something I could be doing. Many times I wait till the last minute to finish my work and I always regret it in the end. Like the article 'How to Beat Procrastination' said, we do thing that are easier to do and take less times rather than the harder thing. It is a great strategy  to make our benefits feel more than our efforts. Another thing I liked was telling others you are going to do something because you are more likely going to do it. The next article I picked was 'How to build a realistic study plan that you'll actually stick to'. Many times during college when exam come up, I have done last minute studying because I keep telling myself I will do it tomorrow. Most of my time I spend finishing up work for the class and then I get tired so I don't study. My strategy is to study 30 minutes each day about the thing we learned in class, that way it will be refreshed in my mind. I also plan to finish the homework as soon as I get it, rather than waiting closer to the due date. I have tried these strategies but never held myself to it but if this becomes a habit it will be easier to follow and do.

  1. Pranali, I absolutely LOVE this image: it's about classes starting... but with echoes of the icons of Indian goddesses with all their arms, each hand holding a different object (and Ravana, the rakshasa king, has 10 heads and 20 arms: talking about multitasking!). And you have also identified the biggest problem with procrastination for most college students: by the time you are in college, procrastination has become a HABIT. Habits are hard to change because you have to develop new habits instead. But it's a good challenge, and one of the things I like about online classes is that you really can create your own schedule and see if you can develop new habits over the course of the semester. Even if we cannot grow more arms, ha ha.
