Topic Brainstorm
There are so many different topics that sound very interesting to learn more in depth about but here are four.
Hanuman- ‘The monkey-god’ is one of the more popular gods of them all. I am interested in this topic because I want to learn more about him and what all he is known for. I know that he is strong and he has lifted a big part of land. I want to learn about that story and I would probably want to retell it by switching some things around or making up anther story that shows all the characteristics of Hanuman. My source.
Creation Stories- There are many stories that say how creation of the world happened and who the first person. Depending on who you ask, different stories will come up. This would be a good topic because you can make the creation story any way you want and even by mixing multiple stories together. I do not know about the creation story but I do want to learn. I would probably mix up little bits of multiple stories if I were to retell it. My source.
Women of the Epics- I think women are very important. Without women in this world, the world would simply not exist. One of the biggest reason is reproduction. Women are a big part of the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. I want to know why they were so important after I find that out, I could say a story where the women were the main people or a story on how it would be if women were not present in the situations. I would probably focus on Draupadi, I have heard of her multiple times but do not know anything about her. My source.
Ganesha- Last but not the least, definitely the most popular god of them all in Hinduism, and one that most people do recognize is Ganesha. I know little things about him but just like many other topics, I also want to broaden my knowledge about Ganapati. I want to learn about why his father, Shiva cut his own sons head off and also want to learn about his childhood stories. I also want to know why people believe he removes obstacles. The story I would probably do is with current situation with Ganesha, showing his characteristics. My source.
