Some of My Storybook Favorites

There are many interesting stories I read along with a good themed page but these are three of my favorite ones.

Ganesha's Blog: Whenever I first opened up the page, I thought it was very good how the description of Ganesha came up along with a picture. The whole blog is done is a very sweet and cute way. I liked the images that were selected. I think images make a big difference because if it is not appealing to the eye then we might not even want to read it. I also like how the story of Ganesha was told, it felt like a conversation as I was reading along the blog. The writing flowed very smoothly.

Ganesha: How It All Began:  I liked how the blog was simple and not a lot was going on. I knew exactly what the blog was talking about and it was easy to follow. I do think the name of the blog is good but one thing I was confused on was when I opened up the page, I didn't see the title again how I normally saw on everyone else's page. I also like the black and white image in the page, it worked very well with the style of the page.

The Karma Diaries:  This page was definitely different from some of the other ones I saw, I liked how the story and the theme of the page tied together and got my attention. Since the page was talking about good and bad consequences from your actions, the images and the theme of the page was darker rather than all colorful. I also liked how the story was told, it was different from the other ones. It was told in situations that occurred and it was like story telling. The images that were picked were also very good.

  1. Hi Pranali! You can see that Ganesha is a popular character in the Storybooks, and of course he shows up in the Mahabharata too, since he is the god who writes down the epic while Vyasa sings the poetry to him. And karma is such a great topic: that is a project someone did last semester! She was able to use that karma theme as the basis for all the stories she wrote for class (because karma -- actions and reactions -- are part of every story, both in real life and in the imagination), and then she picked out her favorite stories to go in that project. I really enjoyed that one too!
