Week 9, Kunti's wishes
There once was a little girl, Kunti, who was extremely sad. She was sad because she never got anything she wanted even after working so hard for it. She prayed and prayed each night hoping to get her wishes fulfilled but not with an honest heart. She was asking out of greed.
One night she is laying in bed next to her sister and just thinking about why she can’t get a job even after she had applied to so many places.
Kunti closes her eyes and prays “ God, why do you put me through so much even after I do good deeds?”
God replies, “ I am only teaching you things that will help you in your future. I am not punishing you my child. Just wait a little more time and your wishes will come true”
Kunti thought to herself “this gives me hope. I have been waiting so long for a job so I can life properly with my sister”
Kunti and her sister have been on there own for the past five years due to the loss of their parents in a car accident. At that moment Kunti was only fifteen years ago so she had to learn to grow up really fast for her little sister.
The next morning Kunti wake up and checks her phone. She sees that she had gotten a call from Sam’s club where she applied over 3 months ago. She finally feels like god listened to her wish. Kunti then thanked god for all that was done for her.
Kunti then tells her sister that the sun has raised on their life and now only good things will happen. Kunti tells herself all the good things in life are finally coming at last. She now realizes that if you work hard and pray with a honest heart all your wishes will come true.

I used the idea from the original story of the Mahabharata about how Kunti prayed to get god to help her. She prayed asked for help just how Kunti from my story did. I really like the idea of praying because if you ask with the right heart you will get what you want.

Hey Pranali!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your story. I liked how you changed the story and kept the idea of praying from the original story. It was a sweet story on how she prayed from her heart and was patient for the good things to come in her life. I think you did a great job on writing this story!
Hi Pranali, this was a great feel good story. I think that its great to encapsulate the struggles and powerlessness that people feel when they have been applying for job after job, and I think you do a good job of showing us how Kunti is faithful throughout it. I was so happy to see that she had gotten a job at the end of it, and I cannot even imagine waiting for 3 months for a response from an employer! Great story!
ReplyDeleteHi Pranali! I'm so glad this story had a happy ending. I'm a senior so I can really feel for Kunti in this story. Waiting is the absolute worst, especially when you really want the job. I also liked how she was rewarded when her motives changed from selfish motives to wanting to take care of her sister. Great story and I look forward to reading more!
ReplyDeleteHey Pranali,
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your first paragraph, I was able to actually relate myself in that type of situation. As youngins', we wish for all these things without a honest intention. I was happy to see that the ending was positive. Even a little message of working hard and praying!
Hey Pranali,
ReplyDeleteThis was such a great story and the happy ending made it so much better. The way that you made it to where Kunti was rewarded when she switched from her selfish motives into wanting to take care of her sister. This is a perfect example of a feel good story where you just have to have faith and pray.
Hey there Pranali! I really liked how you changed up the original story and made it modern, and easy to read! I was happy to see that once Kunti's mindset shifted to unselfish thoughts of life with her sister, her prayers were answered. I can definitely say that most people can relate to this story and that praying for things like a job is a daily routine for many. On another note, thank you for making the ending happy... I really hate when I finish a story and it doesn't end well. I look forward to reading more of your stories in the future, so keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteHey Pranali! This was such a cute little story. I can relate to Kunti in a way. It is important to remember that hard times do pass and eventually we do get what we pray for. Sometimes there are lessons to learn and we do not recognize them right away. I really enjoyed reading your story!
